gizzy

I came up to the shelter with a friend of mine about a month ago and adopted a German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd mix that my boyfriend and I decided to name Gizmo, or Gizzy, as we usually call him.

As soon as I walked into the puppy room and saw him, I knew I wasn't leaving without him!! I couldn't believe it when I was told that someone had adopted him and then brought him back the next day.

He is very well behaved, a fast learner, and has the sweetest face you could ever imagine. He was 6 weeks old when I adopted him and is now 10 weeks. He's gotten so big! I can't even believe how fast he has grown! He's going to be a beast when he's done growing!! He is very intelligent as well. Hes already caught on extremely well to the whole potty training routine. He always lets me know when he needs to go out!

So far some of Gizmo's favorite things are playing with my friend's dog Reesy and my sister's dog Riley, playing tug of war, barking, and meeting new people! He always gets so excited when he sees a new face.

I am so glad I decided to go to the shelter that day. Now that I have Gizmo, I can't even imagine having adopted a different dog! He's perfect in every way and I love him to death!!!!

Thank you so much!
Katlin

german shepherd

My son and I adopted a baby shepard mix about 2 weeks ago. He and I just wanted to let you guys know that she is so spoiled and we love her so much.

She is doing so good, she hasn't had a single potty accident since we brought her home. I just want to thank all of you for being so nice and helping us find the perfect new family member.

I would like to thank you for helping me adopt Sadie yesterday!  She is such a special dog and a perfect fit for our family!

From the very moment she arrived in our home, she has appeared relaxed and grateful for our company.  We already love her so much!

PLEASE never underestimate the valuable work that you all do every day; this is one dog and one family that you've made so very happy!

A million thanks, Jennifer

motomo

Hi, my name is Kimberly Reaid. My father and I, accompanied by my brother, came up there at the beginning of August and got my best friend.

I named him Motomo while I was up there and have completely fallen head over heals for him! He is now around 5 or 6 months old, and he is the joy of my life! He was really shy at first, but once he got comfortable he was a little spitfire!

He loves to run around the yard, play fetch, wrestle, and just be loved. He especially likes to have his belly rubbed! Sometimes he'll even do a double rabbit kick! We've recently had him neutered and he jumped right back, it was great to see that he wasn't in any pain!

I've attatched afew updated pictures of him now and then, you'll see that he's grown alot! When we got him, he was 11 lbs and he is now going on 40! His markings have really darkened and everyone who passes us loves him! He's very sweet and once he warms up to you he love to give big, wet kisses! He is still alittle shy, but he does great when we take him out! He has alot of new friends, and is a total lady's man!

pinky in her favorite place

We adopted Pinky now known as Meow Meow (our son's name for her) about 6 months ago.

From what we know she was really sick when she first got the shelter. She is doing well now and loves to play with our son Brenden.

She loves to get brushed, loves her cat milk, and likes to play at 2 in the morning!  She is also a great snuggle bunny.

Tom and Angela

Thanks Tom, Angela, and Brenden!! Meow Meow must really love her forever home, and most of all, her forever family!!

Sweet Lily

Lily was brought into the Shelter, after having two owners in the first year of her life.

Someone had suggested to her second owner, that Lily should be "dumped across town,"  versus being taken to the Shelter.

Thankfully, Lily was brought to the Shelter.

She got her forever home two days later, when Terry came in to get a "new buddy" after losing her beloved Watson, a few days earlier.

Nowdays, Lily is in now living in a warm and loving forever home, now known as the "Lily Pad," with a lot of contentment!

dudley

My husband and I adopted Dudley (formerly Leland) on 7/28/07. It was pouring rain and we almost didn't go outside to look at the other dogs in back, but my husband went anyway and came running back in soaking wet, telling me that there was the cutest boxer mix out there that I just had to see.

Dudley had a gimp leg but he was so cute and sweet that we just had to adopt him anyway! It was said that his previous owner turned him in when he was hit by a car and his leg didn't heal on its own.

We got him neutered and he is up to date with all of his shots. He has gained a lot of muscle in his leg and uses it all the time now, whereas before he wouldn't even walk on it! When we first got Dudley, he never wanted to eat and now he eats regularly and has filled out a lot since we adopted him. You can't see his ribs anymore!

Our whole family has fallen in love with Dudley too. He is just the sweetest dog and loves everyone he meets. He has learned some tricks, is now house and crate trained also. We have seen such a drastic improvement in Dudley and anyone can tell that he has a happier and better life now.

Dudley has touched our lives so much and many thanks go to you for all that you do!

Sincerely,
Alexa and Bryan

nike_girl.jpg

Nike Girl was adopted on Oct 3rd, she loves her new house and family. We go and see Grandma and Grandpa everyday, who enjoy her as much as she enjoys her.

As you can see she loves to pose for the camera, She is a joy to be around she loves to go for rides in the car, and she loves her walks 6 times a day.

Couldn't have asked for a better dog.
Thank You Paulding County!

kiki

We adopted KiKi at the Shelter. She was a very sweet cat but you could tell she was very scared. She hissed if there was a lot of commotion, which you can imagine the amount of commotion in the kitty room on the weekends!

My daughter saw her when we got there and that was the first cage she went to. She hissed at us so I went to a different cage and pulled my daughter away. She kept going back and asking to take her out. I finally gave in and we took her to the cat room to play with her.

Instantly she warmed up, rolled over in my lap and started purring!!!

In just one week she lays in the middle of the floor, must be the center of attention, and loves everyone. She even lets my 9 month old son tug on her. He lays his face on her stomach and she licks his head. She sleeps on my daughters feet every night and comes and curls up with me in the morning.

She is one of the best cats I have ever had!! She is so much happier now, and loves everyone. I haven't heard her hiss once since we brought her home.

Thanks Paulding County!

Pretty Maddie

Often pets come into the shelter and they are "diamonds in the rough". Matted hair and underfed, with a little grooming and TLC, their true potential shines through.  Such was Maddie's case.  A loving girl, she had been neglected and abused.  But now she's living happily ever after with bows in her hair and a caring new owner.
