From Baker's Forever Family
On Saturday April 28th, Baker, Chelsey and I headed out to the Baker's
Hope Fundraiser held in his honor at the Kroger on Ridge Road in Paulding County.
We didn't know what to expect, but were happily surprised once we arrived.
A tent was set up and there were items to be raffled. Members from the Paulding Humane Society were there along with
John Payne and his family.
It was John and his family
who were responsible for organizing this fundraiser and posting the sign on the corner of Bakers Bridge Road and Sweetwater
Church Road where Baker sat for ten days.
Reading that
sign brought tears to my eyes. My husband and I just had to rescue Baker.
That morning as people started to come over to the tent they immediately started to recognize Baker from sitting
on the corner and they all commented on how happy and sweet he looked.
They all got to pet him and he gave out many, many kisses. I was constantly thanked and was wished many blessings
the whole time I was there by so many strangers for taking him into our home.
I will always thank John Payne for posting the sign that tugged at my heart and for caring enough to feed him while
he patiently sat there waiting for his owner to return.
Thank
you also to the many others who tossed treats out of their cars to him. John and his family raffled off many things that morning
and collected a lot of money from the many generous people that stopped by.
Thank you all also. All the proceeds went to the Paulding Humane Society.
Our home is once again truly blessed to have another baby so sweet and fun loving as Baker. I hope everyone has a
heart and will love their pets as a member of the family and not just an animal.
Best wishes, Myra Karycinski
