adopt from humane society

The Paulding County Animal Shelter is open for adoptions weekdays and weekends, Noon til 5 p.m.  Closed on Wednesday.

Adoption fees range from $50 to $100.  Pricing depends on degree of veterinarian work completed, prior to adoption, such as rabies shot, spay - neuter.  Microchip and First Distemper Shot included.

$100 adoption fee applies to UNALTERED purebreeds.
This includes the spay/neuter, along with the microchip, first distemper shot and rabies shot.  The spay or neuter will be performed before the pet leaves the shelter.

Fencing is mandatory on certain breeds such as Rottweiler, Pit Bull Terrier, Shepherd, Doberman, Boxer and Great Dane. (Animal Control reserves the right to require a fence on any animal they feel appropriate).

ATTENTION

Georgia State Law and Paulding County Ordinance requires that any animal adopted from a shelter must be spayed or neutered.

There are no exceptions to this.  When you adopt an animal, you are given a "fix by date."  If that animal is not spayed or neutered by that date, you will be cited and have to appear in court.  If you fail to appear in court, a citation will be issued to you, by Animal Control, and a bench warrant will be issued for your arrest.

This is a serious matter.  The law was created in the hopes that it would reduce the number of animals euthanized in Georgia Shelters, every year.

You can do your part by not only adopting a shelter dog and/or cat, but also by spaying and neutering any pets that you may have at home.

Thank You.
